CALL FOR DISSERTATION DIGEST PAPERS

Call for papers is available in PDF version. NOMS2023 Dissertation Digest CfP

The 36th IEEE/IFIP Network Operations and Management Symposium (NOMS 2023) will be held between 8-12 May 2023 in Miami, Florida, U.S.A. Held originally in even-numbered years only since 1988, NOMS 2023 does now follow a new path of seeing the IFIP/IEEE IM symposium being combined with IEEE/IFIP NOMS into the primary IEEE Communications Society's and IFIP’s Technical Committee TC6 annual forum for the technical exchange on management of networks, services, and communication technology focusing on research, development, integration, provisioning, and user communities.

Submission Instructions

The NOMS 2023 Dissertation Digest focuses on Ph.D. dissertations finished recently, especially within the December 1, 2021, to November 30, 2022, time frame. Suitable content and topics fall into the exact same range as for the main symposium’s list of topics, cf. https://noms2023.ieee-noms.org/authors/call-technical-session-papers. This digest can be considered an extended abstract of the thesis and must be limited to six pages and structured very similarly to a regular paper.

In addition, this digest needs to add in the text and in the reference section a reference to a Web link for the full Ph.D. thesis. Furthermore, the list of journal, conference, and workshop papers, published as part of the Ph.D. work, has to be included in the digest paper’s reference section, too. Note that the authors of a digest will be only the (former) student and his/her supervisor(s). The dissertation digest co-chairs may request evidence of the defense or approval of the thesis for each submission before it can be accepted finally.

Only PDF submissions will be considered for review and they shall be uploaded to the JEMS system at https://jems3.sbc.org.br/noms_dissertation_digest_2023.

Paper Formatting Instructions

Prepare the dissertation digest paper with the maximal length of 6 pages (including all references, figures, and table) – in the English language only – following the IEEE double-column format using the published IEEE Conference Proceeding templates, being available at "http://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.html.

All papers should be submitted through JEMS at https://jems.sbc.org.br/noms2023.

Authors of accepted submissions are required to present their digest within Dissertation Digest sessions of NOMS 2023, if the dissertation digest paper shall be included in the proceedings. Due to IEEE/IFIP technical co-sponsorship of NOMS, your final paper is planned to be included in IEEE Xplore for archival value after the conference.
